Concentrates are legal in MA, but you should know a few things before trying your first dab. Concentrates are some of the most potent cannabis products available, and many are made using solvents. Therefore, it is critical that you get your dabs from a good trustworthy source like Eskar or another cannabis dispensary. Buying concentrates at a dispensary will also mean you get access to experienced professionals that can guide you to the best products and how to use them.

How to Use Dabs or THC Oil
Essentially, dabs need to be heated until they produce vapors, and then you inhale the vapors. Dabs can be used with a dab rig, which is like a typical bong with a few extra parts. With a dab rig or electric nail, you place your dab on the heated nail, the dab will get hot and turn to vapors, and you inhale through the mouthpiece. Check out our full guide to shopping for vaporizers.
How Much of a Dab to Use
Dabs are far more potent than cured flower, so you truly only need a “dab” to get all you want. You can get dabs and THC oil that are as high as 90 to 99 percent THC. How much to use can vary depending on the type of dab or concentrate you are using. However, the general recommendation is to start with a tiny bit.
Remember, it only takes a little to produce a pretty intense high. So, start with a dose about the size of a drop or grain of rice, get familiar with what that produces as far as effects, and adjust as needed.
Can you use dabs on flower?
You can use some concentrates directly on your flower, which is helpful to know if you don’t have a dab rig on hand. You still only need a tiny amount, and it can be difficult to mix some dabs with dry herb, so it can take a little time to get whatever concentrate you are using mixed with your bud. Hash, crumble, and wax tend to work better for this method, which is often referred to as “twaxing.”
What is a dab pen?
A dab pen is basically a vaping device that is set up for use with certain types of dabs. Dab pens are battery-operated and small, which makes them easy to use because they are portable. We carry a variety of cartridges, including customer-favorite Entourage Cartridges.
What is the best temperature to use dabs?
A good temperature to aim for is 545 to 570°F, especially if you are using something like live resin, crumble, shatter, or sugar. If your dab nail or other device is not heated sufficiently, you can actually have a lot of waste because the dab won’t vaporize properly.
